We want every traveler to know exactly what to expect, so here's the scoop on getting there and getting around.
Getting to and from the river:
Charter Flights: We travel to Salmon and back from the river on small planes. People who get motion sickness might want to bring medication that works for them.
Van Shuttle: The ride from the hotel to the put-in spot is a couple of hours in a van much of it on a dirt road. People who get motion sickness might want to bring medication that works for them.
Boat Options: Rafters have two options.
You can choose to be on an "oar" boat which entails no paddling just the fun of being on the boat on the river.
You can also choose to be on a "paddle" boat in which you are an active paddler. No previous experience is needed, but it can be workout. That means you can paddle actively and help with your own rescue (swim to the raft or hold on) if you fall in. 💪
Getting in and out of boats: Getting in and out of boats takes place in shallow water onto sandy or rocky surfaces.
Getting around camp: Everyone's gear travels from camp to camp by raft. We all chip in to help unload and load personal gear and camping gear bags to/from the boats. Personal gear and camping gear must be walked to your chosen campsite. Terrain may be rocky, uneven, and hilly. Help will be available if needed.
If you use a mobility aid, have limited mobility, or have health considerations that might affect rafting, hiking or uneven terrain, please reach out before booking. We'll talk through options together.

Why have we identified this trip with 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️? . We know that traveling as part of the LGBTQ+ community can at times be stressful, especially in remote and unknown settings. On our flagged trips we have done additional work up front to ensure a welcoming experience for all and to answer some of the questions you may have when considering a trip. On this trip we travel as a group throughout the trip, have mostly private transfers, and there is LGBTQ+ family in the trip leadership.
This trip is a special example of two woman-owned businesses coming together through shared values and a passion for elevating women leadership in the outdoors.
Our local guiding partner Alison, owner of YJRG, has been leading on the river for over 20 years. She has evolved her business to one that now has an all-woman team of guides and staff, a rarity in this industry. We both believe in the magic of women-led environments and creating inclusive women-centered spaces.
While we don't yet know the exact guides and trip leader who will be on this trip you can be assured they will be an amazing team of women. Thank you for supporting women owned businesses!!!
